Essential oils are distilled from flowers, leaves, bark and nuts of plants and trees. Their properties have  been proven with their usage through the years. They are used in situations of stress, nervous tension, as first aid.

Also in skin diseases and problems. Each essential oil contains the ingredients of the plant in high concentration, therefore they need attention during their use and of course they need to be mixed with base oil or water.

Essential oil recipes

Suggested recipes with essential oils

Headache: Mix 4 drops of Peppermint, 6 drops of Lemon and 6 drops of Lavender oil. Massage the temples, forehead and around the ears.

Cellulite: Mix 8 drops of cypress, 12 drops of juniper, 6 drops rosemary and 4 drops of lavender in 50 ml almond oil or moisturizer. Massage exerting pressure with the palm of your hand in a circular motion always towards the heart.


Arthritis-Rheumatism: Mix 12 drops of dittany, 10 drops of juniper and 8 drops of pine in 50 ml almond oil or moisturizing cream or 10 drops of the above mixture in ½ cup water to make a compress. Gently spread avoiding to massage the painful joints,  or place a compress with the same mixture in the affected areas and leave it overnight.


Muscle Pain: Mix 10 drops of thyme, 10 drops of juniperand 10 drops of oregano oil in 50 ml almond oil or moisturizer. Massage the painful areas with your mixture, or add a few drops of it in your bath water.


Relaxing Massage: Mix 8 drops lavender, 6 drops of juniper, 8 drops of tangerine and 8 drops of orange oil in 50 ml almond oil or moisturizer. Rest your body by massaging your shoulders or putting it in an essential oil burner.


Varicose veins - Hemorrhoids: Mix 6 drops of lemon, 10 drops of cypress, 10 drops of juniper and 5 drops of peppermint oil in 50 ml almond oil or moisturizing cream or 10 drops of the above mixture in ½ cup water to make a compress. Spread it using your palms, from your ankles towards your thighs or place some cold compresses.


Sniffle-Cold: Mix 10 drops of eucalyptus, 10 drops of thyme, 10 drops peppermint oil in 50 ml almond oil or moisturizer. Do puffs, by pouring a few drops on a handkerchief or in a cup of hot water. Massage your chest and back.


Hair Toner: Mix 10 drops of sage,10 drops of rosemary and 10 drops of bay leaves oil. Pour a few drops of the mixture in your shampoo for everyday use.

Ways to use essential oils
Massage oil: 15-30 drops in 50ml of base oil
Bath: 10 drops (also for foot baths and hand baths)
Warm compresses: 10 drops in half cup water
Inhalation: 10 drops on a tissue or half a bowl of hot water.
Mouthwashes, gargles: 3 drops in a glass of water (well shaken)
Tea: 2-3 drops on a tea bag to make 3-4 cups of tea
Fresheners: 7-8 drops of essential oil in evaporator.
